Scott Matison is a founding partner of Console Matison, LLP whose practice is devoted exclusively to family law. With nearly 20 years of legal experience, he represents individuals and families throughout the Greater Philadelphia region and South Jersey in divorce, custody, support, and other family law matters.
Scott’s practice includes:
He represents clients at every stage of the process, from negotiated settlements to complex contested litigation. Scott also serves as a Court-Appointed Parent Coordinator in Philadelphia County, assisting families in high-conflict custody matters by resolving parenting disputes and issuing decisions when parents are unable to reach agreement.
Scott regularly practices in the following counties:
Pennsylvania: Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, and Bucks
New Jersey: Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Cape May
Practicing throughout both Pennsylvania and New Jersey gives Scott extensive familiarity with the procedural rules, local practices, and judicial expectations unique to each jurisdiction. That regional experience enables him to guide clients efficiently through matters that often differ significantly from one county or state to another.
Whenever possible, Scott seeks to resolve family law matters through negotiated settlement, helping clients avoid the expense and uncertainty of litigation. At the same time, he prepares every case as though it will proceed to trial, ensuring clients are well-positioned both at the negotiating table and in the courtroom if litigation becomes necessary. His litigation experience includes successfully arguing before the Pennsylvania Superior Court.
Scott believes every client deserves honest guidance and a clear understanding of their legal options from the very first consultation. He takes the time to understand each client’s goals, explains the law in straightforward terms, and develops practical strategies tailored to their unique circumstances. Known for his direct, practical approach, Scott provides the steady, objective perspective clients need during emotionally challenging family law matters.
Scott previously served as President of the Doris Jonas Freed American Inn of Court. He also served as Co-Chair of the Equitable Distribution and Alimony Committee of the Montgomery County Bar Association, where he helped draft proposed amendments to local court rules and organized continuing legal education programs on developments in equitable distribution and alimony law.
In 2025, Scott was selected to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list, recognizing the top 5% of attorneys in the Commonwealth. He was previously named to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Stars list each year from 2017 through 2022. (See here for the Super Lawyers selection process.)
Scott is also a frequent author and presenter on family law topics for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and The Pennsylvania Family Lawyer.
